POSITION: HEAD CHEF
Location: Royal Solwezi, Zambia
Royal Solwezi is seeking a talented, experienced, and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong culinary skills, leadership abilities, creativity, and the capacity to maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus and oversee daily food preparation and presentation.
- Prepare a variety of high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency and excellent standards.
- Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff.
- Monitor food costs, stock levels, portion control, and minimise wastage.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Manage kitchen operations efficiently and ensure timely meal service.
- Introduce creative dishes and contribute to menu development.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Senior Chef.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and different cuisines.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety, stock control, and cost management.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards.

- Types of cuisine: What types of food do you specialise in preparing? For example, Zambian/local cuisine, Indian, Chinese, continental, Italian, Mediterranean, or other international cuisines.
- Previous experience: List the hotels, lodges, restaurants, or other establishments where you have worked.
- Signature dishes: Provide examples of at least three dishes you prepare exceptionally well.
- Menu planning: Briefly describe your experience in menu development, food costing, and kitchen management.
