Job Title: Compliance & Data Protection Officer
Location: Zambia (Preferred)

Job Summary
We are looking for a Compliance & Data Protection Officer to support the company in meeting its legal, regulatory, and data protection requirements. The role involves monitoring compliance, maintaining relevant documentation, and ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed.
The ideal candidate should have a background in law or relevant practical experience in compliance or data protection. Candidates based in Zambia are preferred. Fresh graduates with a relevant academic background will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor applicable laws and regulations relevant to the company’s operations and keep track of changes that may affect the business.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating the company’s compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance records, registers, and other relevant documentation.
- Support internal compliance reviews and audits, ensuring that the required records and supporting documents are available.
- Assist in implementing the company’s data protection and privacy policies.
- Review how personal and confidential information is collected, stored, accessed, processed, and shared to help ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
- Identify and report potential compliance gaps and data protection risks to the relevant management.
- Maintain data protection records and documentation as required.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and providing updates to management on outstanding issues.
- Support employee training and awareness on compliance, confidentiality, and data protection.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to obtain information and follow up on compliance-related matters.
- Carry out other duties related to compliance and data protection as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a relevant qualification in a related field.
- Relevant practical experience in legal practice, compliance, or data protection will be an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with a relevant academic background will also be considered.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and data protection principles (including the Zambian Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021).
- Familiarity with Zambian laws and regulations will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
