BARTENDER
Job Purpose
To prepare and serve beverages professionally while providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and responsible service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and take beverage orders.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to approved recipes.
- Mix cocktails and other beverages where required.
- Maintain the bar area in a clean and organised condition.
- Check glassware, utensils and bar equipment before service.
- Monitor stock levels of beverages and bar supplies.
- Record and report stock usage and shortages.
- Maintain appropriate storage of beverages.
- Process customer bills and payments where required.
- Recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
- Maintain professional customer relationships.
- Follow applicable laws and organisational policies relating to alcohol service.
- Refuse service appropriately where required by law or company policy.
- Maintain hygiene and food-safety standards.
- Clean bar equipment and work surfaces.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate in Hospitality, Food & Beverage Service or related field is an advantage.
- Previous bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cocktail preparation is an advantage.
