Position: Safety Officer (x1)

Applications are invited from qualified, energetic, and dedicated individuals for the position of Safety Officer (x1) based in Chambishi, Copperbelt Province, Zambia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, monitor, and enforce workplace Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, risk assessments, and identify potential hazards in operational areas.
• Lead daily safety toolbox talks and conduct safety inductions for site personnel and contractors.
• Investigate site incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare detailed incident reports with root-cause analysis and preventive recommendations.
• Ensure all employees and equipment operators strictly adhere to PPE standards and safe work practices.
• Maintain statutory safety records, compliance audits, and liaise with site management on safety improvements.

Requirements:

• Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHSE) or related environmental/engineering discipline (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHEUM, or recognized institution).
• Demonstrated practical experience as a Safety Officer on mining, construction, or heavy industrial projects.
• Thorough knowledge of Zambian occupational safety legislation, mining regulations, and hazard identification methods.
• Strong observational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to write clear, analytical safety reports and incident documentation.
