Hiya Agri Zambia Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance across its agricultural and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor compliance with HSE policies, safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits and hazard assessments.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings for workers and contractors.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and unsafe working conditions, producing root-cause reports.
• Ensure proper and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Monitor high-risk activities and enforce safe work procedures across farm and facility sites.
• Maintain comprehensive HSE records, registers, and prepare periodic compliance reports.
• Support emergency preparedness, fire drills, and environmental management initiatives.
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement among all staff.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management or a closely related field.
• Membership with a recognised professional safety body.
• Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or operations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
