Position: Farm Supervisor
Duty Station: Sumbawanga, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview:

Western Seed Company Ltd is seeking an experienced, proactive, and resilient Farm Supervisor to oversee hybrid maize seed production operations at our agricultural farm in Sumbawanga, Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise day-to-day commercial and hybrid maize production activities, including land preparation, planting, rouging, detasseling, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting.
• Oversee farm labor crews, equipment operators, and field scouts, ensuring high productivity and quality adherence.
• Maintain strict seed purity, field isolation distances, and quality compliance aligned with seed certification standards.
• Monitor irrigation schedules, crop growth stages, and implement prompt agronomic interventions.
• Manage farm machinery deployment, maintenance schedules, and fuel utilization records.
• Prepare detailed field production records, input usage summaries, and harvest yield forecasts for management.

Education & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in General Agriculture, Agronomy, or BSc Crop Production.
• Experience: 6–10 years of relevant, hands-on experience in hybrid maize production and commercial seed farming.

Work Requirements:

• Willingness to live and work in remote rural farming areas.
• Valid Driving Licence.
• Good health and physically fit.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
