Position: Maintenance Planner
Company: Trade Kings Limited
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and oversee the maintenance, repair, installation, and optimization of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure reliable plant operations, minimize downtime, and improve manufacturing productivity.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical equipment and manufacturing machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, conduct root-cause analysis (RCA), and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify engineering opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and service life.
• Prepare detailed maintenance schedules, technical reports, and comprehensive records of equipment breakdowns and repairs.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production, electrical, and other relevant departments to minimize operational disruptions.
• Ensure that all mechanical maintenance work complies strictly with company standard procedures, engineering standards, and occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements.
• Participate actively in equipment modification, continuous process improvement, and engineering projects.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognized engineering qualification.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Sound knowledge of preventive maintenance methodologies, mechanical systems, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in maintenance planning software and Microsoft Office applications.
