WAITER / WAITRESS
Job Purpose
To provide friendly, professional and efficient food and beverage service, ensuring a positive dining experience for every guest.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating.
- Present menus and explain available food and beverage options.
- Take accurate food and drink orders.
- Enter orders correctly into the relevant system or communicate them to the kitchen/bar.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction.
- Respond to guest requests and complaints professionally.
- Clear and reset tables efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas.
- Process bills and payments accurately where required.
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff.
- Ensure tables are properly set before service.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items and daily specials.
- Follow food hygiene and safety standards.
- Promote additional menu items where appropriate.
- Support opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Secondary education or hospitality qualification preferred.
- Previous restaurant or hotel-service experience is an advantage.
- Customer-service experience is desirable.
