Implementation Engineer – Civil (1 Position)

Mulonga Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited provides water and sanitation services in Chingola, Mufulira and Chililabombwe and is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Undertake project-engineering activities involving scoping, implementation and management of the utility’s infrastructure works.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Carry out preliminary in-house scoping, end-user consultations and specification preparation.
• Check basic design data and engineering drawings against overall project design.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of consultant and MWSC engineering designs.
• Assist with technical specifications for tenders for goods, works and services.
• Participate in tender evaluation and contract awards.
• Manage implementation from pre-commencement and progress meetings through close-out.
• Ensure projects follow time, quality and cost principles.
• Scrutinise contractor, supplier and consultant payment certificates.
• Work with the Community Mobilisation and Social Specialist on project water and sanitation activities.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with ERB and membership of EIZ.
• Minimum five years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Practical knowledge of distribution networks, transmission pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, water-treatment infrastructure, sewer networks and related civil works.
• Ability to review designs, interpret drawings, inspect work, verify materials and workmanship, identify defects and ensure compliance with specifications, BOQs and approved standards.
• Proficiency in engineering and project-management software.
• Team-leadership and multidisciplinary-coordination experience.
• Ability to drive a manual motor vehicle.
