Job Purpose
The Financial Controller will be responsible for budgeting, managing tax payments and performing internal audits. Work closely with the Finance Manager in conducting cost and revenue analyses. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements – balance sheets and income statements.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Preparation of complex journal entries, including capitalization of employee time and accounting for assets and national collections
Prepare monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting for management
Analysis of financial information and conducting forecast costs and revenues
Take the lead in preparing annual Financial statements and audit activities.
Fringe Benefits Tax accounting and reporting.
Contribute to the development and implementation of related policies, strategies, systems and standards.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the section’s business plan.
Manage the role of the system administrator function.
Assist with section functions, including representing the manager, External Budgets and Financial Policy and manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis as required.
Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
Perform month-end and year-end close processes

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualification and Experience

Full CA Zambia /ACCA/CIMA
Degree in Finance or Accounting

Must have at least a minimum of 6-8 years of working experience as a Financial Controller or Similar
Current or Previous working experience with a Mine or Engineering Company as a Financial Controller will be plus

Must be familiar with SAGE Accounting Package

Must have Excellent Tax knowledge.
Strong working knowledge and experience in financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts.
Must be a member of ZICA
