As a company driver at Veritas General Insurance plc, you will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and courteous driving services. Your duties will include transporting personnel and sensitive materials securely, maintaining the assigned vehicle in excellent condition, and adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies. This position requires flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport company staff, documents, and authorised property as instructed.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, roadworthy, and properly serviced.
- Perform routine vehicle checks including oil, water, tyres, and lights.
- Report timely for servicing, licensing, and any maintenance needs.
- Observe all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, trip records, and fuel consumption reports.
- Promptly report any accidents, defects, incidents, or mechanical issues to supervisors.
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Carry out additional driving and related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Full Grade 12 Secondary School Certificate is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle class.
- Clean and valid driving record.
- Prior experience as a professional driver, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Good knowledge of Lusaka city and major routes across Zambia.
- Basic understanding of vehicle care and maintenance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism consistently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous corporate driving experience is an advantage.
- Experience working in insurance, financial services, or similar professional sectors is beneficial.
