Position: Roller Operator
Location: Lusaka & Project Sites, Zambia

Role Overview:
UNO Energies Zambia Limited is seeking a certified, skilled, and safety-oriented Roller Operator to join our civil works and construction team. The successful candidate will operate heavy roller compactor machinery on civil engineering, forecourt construction, earthworks, and infrastructure development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy vibratory/static roller compactors to compact soil, sub-base, gravel, asphalt, and other materials to engineering specifications.
- Continuously monitor compaction quality, layer thickness, and adjust machine amplitude, frequency, and speed settings accordingly.
- Conduct daily routine pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections (fluid levels, hydraulics, drums, brakes, alarms, and steering) and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite and strictly adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures.
- Coordinate closely with civil engineers, site foremen, graders, and ground crews adhering to traffic management plans.
- Maintain accurate daily machine logs, operating hours, and fuel consumption records.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Grade 12 Certificate.
- Valid Class CE Driver’s License .
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator’s Permit or relevant TEVETA-recognized certification in Earthmoving Plant Operation.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ proven hands-on experience operating a roller compactor on civil earthworks, road construction, or commercial site development projects.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety requirements and heavy plant risk management.
