Responsibilities
The Biomedical Scientist performs laboratory tests and analyses to support diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
- Laboratory Testing: Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic tests on patient specimens, including blood, urine, tissue, and other samples.
- Sample Collection and Processing: Collect, receive, and process specimens according to standard operating procedures.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures and ensure accuracy and precision of test results.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated, functional, and properly maintained.
- Result Reporting: Accurately record, analyze, and report test results to clinicians for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Research Support: Support research activities as required, including data collection and analysis.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advances in biomedical science and laboratory technology.
Qualifications
Degree in Biomedical Science or related field, valid practicing license, and relevant laboratory experience.
