JOB DETAILS:
The Pizza Chef is responsible for preparing high-quality, authentic pizzas in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role spans the entire process of pizza creation, from scratch dough preparation and stretching to ingredient prep, baking, and garnishing. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge of dough hydration, temperature control, and wood-fired or commercial deck ovens, while maintaining strict food safety and presentation standards.
This position requires a hands-on approach to pizza making, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served. The chef will be expected to manage inventory of pizza ingredients, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff. A passion for Italian cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing pizza dough from scratch, ensuring proper fermentation and texture.
- Prepping and portioning all pizza ingredients, including sauces, cheeses, and toppings.
- Operating and maintaining wood-fired or commercial deck ovens.
- Baking pizzas to perfection, monitoring cooking times and temperatures.
- Garnishing pizzas with fresh ingredients and ensuring appealing presentation.
- Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work station.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of dough hydration, fermentation, and baking techniques.
- Experience with wood-fired or commercial deck ovens.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills.
