Grade: ZMS 02 | Position: Director – Warehousing and Distribution (x01)

The Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) seeks applications from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian Nationals to fill the position of Director – Warehousing and Distribution (x01) .

Reports to: Director General

Main Job Purpose:

To coordinate all aspects of warehouse operations, inbound services, inventory management, outbound and distribution services in order to ensure efficient logistics, optimal inventory levels and timely delivery of medicines and medical supplies across Zambia.

Main Responsibilities:

• Policy & Strategic Planning: Coordinate the development, implementation, and review of warehousing, distribution, and customer service strategic plans and policies.
• Inbound & Receiving Services: Coordinate recording, verification, and receipt of medicines and medical supplies to ensure total accountability.
• Inventory Management: Coordinate inventory strategies to ensure stock availability, reduce holding costs, prevent wastages/expiries, and maintain inventory standards.
• Outbound & Dispatch Services: Oversee timely picking, packing, staging, and loading of medicines and medical supplies to fulfil health facility orders.
• Continuous Improvement & Safety: Implement compliance, cold-chain, and safety standards in warehousing and distribution operations.
• Leadership & Management: Lead departmental teams, prepare annual budgets and work plans, monitor M&E performance, and manage human and material resources.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• A combination of supply chain/logistics and pharmacy qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years’ work experience , 4 of which must be at senior management level .
