Business Development Officer
ORBS Consultancy Services Zambia Limited is looking for an experienced Business Development Officer to win new clients and grow our recurring income. The role reports to the Head of Department – Client Management and starts on 4 January 2027.
About ORBS
We provide outsourced Finance & Tax, HR & Payroll, Corporate & Compliance and Business Technology services that help Zambian companies stay compliant, run efficiently and grow.
The role
You will build a targeted pipeline of medium and large companies in our six priority sectors, lead first meetings with decision-makers, prepare proposals with our department leads and develop referral partnerships. You will also own our website and social media, turning them into a steady source of new enquiries.
What you will do
- Generate new opportunities with senior decision-makers, lead discovery meetings and prepare winning proposals.
- Grow retainer income across our Finance & Tax, HR & Payroll, Corporate & Compliance and Business Technology services.
- Build referral partnerships and represent ORBS at industry events.
- Own our website and social media channels: content, enquiries and monthly results.
- Manage the full sales pipeline in Odoo CRM and report on performance weekly.
What you will bring
- A degree in business, marketing, finance, economics or a related field.
- At least five years’ experience selling professional services to medium and large companies in Zambia.
- A proven record of meeting sales targets and winning recurring contracts.
- An established network in at least two of our six priority sectors.
- Experience managing a company website and LinkedIn for a business audience, with content writing, basic design and analytics skills.
- Experience with a CRM system (Odoo an advantage) and a valid driver’s licence.
