ABOUT THE POSITION
APP Chirundu invites applications from suitably qualified, honest, motivated and hardworking individuals to fill the position of Station Accountant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the station’s financial operations, fuel stock reconciliations, cash management, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate, certified and ECZ verified.
- Diploma/Degree in Accountancy, ZICA Licentiate or equivalent qualification.
- Must be a paid-up ZICA member.
- Previous accounting experience, preferably in the petroleum, retail or OMC industry.
- Proficiency in Sage, Pastel or QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Must have a clean criminal record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly financial reports.
- Perform daily fuel sales, pump readings and stock reconciliations.
- Monitor fuel stock variances and investigate discrepancies.
- Reconcile cash, card, mobile money and credit sales.
- Prepare banking schedules and monitor daily deposits.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and assist with payment processing.
- Assist with budgeting and expenditure monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA and ERB requirements.
- Maintain proper accounting records and effective internal controls.
