JOB DETAILS:
Zambia Airports Corporation Limited is a reputable aviation organisation with a mission to provide world class Airport and Air Navigation Services at the four major airports namely, Kenneth Kaunda in Lusaka, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula in Livingstone, and Mfuwe International Airports and ten (10) Provincial and Strategic Airports.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian nationals with a vision to excel in the following position:
1. QUANTITY SURVEYOR (HEAD OFFICE) x1
This role reports to the Manager Projects. The job holder will be responsible for estimation, monitoring, and evaluation of both in-house and outsourced construction projects of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited civil and electrical infrastructure.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Preparation of Bill of Quantities.
• Estimation and monitoring construction costs from inception to project delivery
• Advise on cost estimates during all stages of the development of a project to facilitate decisions on various alternatives.
• Determine capital projects financial implications.
• Advise on the most advantageous procurement methods available and carefully examine tender documentations to enable decision making.
• Support contracting negotiations to obtain a competitive price.
• Establish cost control measures and monitor/value work in progress.
• Evaluate the value of variations ordered by the Project Manager and ensure that a fair and equitable settlement of the cost of the project is reached in accordance with the contract conditions.
• Preparation of Preliminary Feasibility Studies to formulate Terms of Reference for tendering.
• Identify and recommend the most economical way of achieving maintenance and/or construction requirements during feasibility stage of projects through use of Cost Planning. Estimating, Cost Analysis, Cost-in-Use Studies and Value.
• Preparation of tender documentation and appropriate contracts.
• Certification of measured works under execution and preparation of payment certificates.
• Supervision of external contractors to ensure adherence to specifications and local procedures and conditions.
• Provide support to business units in the application of Quantity Surveying Services guidelines/ tools, processes, and procedures based on leading practices and most recent theory that addresses the needs and expectations of various stakeholders.
• Preparation of monthly cost reports.
• Prepare project financial projections and participate in project team meetings.
• Present project plans, progress and outcomes to applicable forums and committees.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O’ level credits or better which must include English, Mathematics and Science
• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or Building Science.
• Computer Literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Package (Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Auto CAD
• Member of the Surveyors Institute of Zambia (SIZ) or Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors (ZIQS).
