We work closely with farming communities to implement and monitor agricultural and environmental projects while generating high-quality field data to support project development, monitoring, and carbon removal activities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Field Assistant, you will support the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of agricultural and environmental field activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the deployment and monitoring of natural soil amendments.
- Conducting farmer engagement, registration, enrollment, and field coordination activities.
- Collecting soil samples and preparing them for laboratory analysis.
- Recording accurate farmer, field, sampling, and deployment data and maintaining proper field records.
- Ensuring data integrity by recording field information accurately, consistently, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Supporting field reporting, verification, and monitoring activities.
- Supporting field logistics, including transportation, equipment, and materials.
- Carrying out additional field and logistical tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate Diploma in Agriculture or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant field experience in agriculture, environmental projects, soil sampling, farmer engagement, research, data collection, or related work.
- Practical experience working with farming communities is strongly preferred.
- Experience in agricultural or environmental field projects will be an added advantage.
- Only candidates based in Livingstone will be considered.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Valid motorbike riding license and practical riding experience.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively to rural and remote farming locations.
- Android smartphone with good camera and GPS functionality.
- Basic computer skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, email, and digital data collection platforms.
- Ability to speak Tonga.
