1. About CBM:

Christian Blind Mission is an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world.

2. Core purpose
To provide logistical support and fleet management service to Christian Blind Mission.

3. Main Tasks:

• Drives CBM staff to office related appointments, functions and project visits within and outside of Lusaka, including after hours and weekends as required
• Perform pick up and drop off, of staff and visitors
• Ensure the safety of passangers at all times
• Stay informed on traffic and road safety conditions
• Maintains record of trips taken (destination, route, passangers) and corresponding mileage used in the vehicle log book
• Safety checks on the office vehicles and reports any faults
• Support renewal of certificates of fitness, insurance, road tax and servicing of office vehicles
• Maintain cleanliness of office vehicles
• Collection and delivery of internal and external mail and parcels
• Support logistics monthly reports

4. Requirements:

The Driver Manager must have:

• Minimum grade 12 certificate
• Minimum 10 years driving experience in Zambia, preferably for NGO’s
• Strong knowledge of Zambia road conditions and traffic policies
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and registration procedures
• Good English language skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft office for reporting
• Ability to speak local languages (e.g. Nyanja, Bemba, Tonga) added advantage
• Self-motivated, honest, flexible, with good problem solving skills
• Adheres to CBM’s beleifs and values
