JOB DETAILS:
Zambia Airports Corporation Limited is a reputable aviation organisation with a mission to provide world class Airport and Air Navigation Services at the four major airports namely, Kenneth Kaunda in Lusaka, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula in Livingstone, and Mfuwe International Airports and ten (10) Provincial and Strategic Airports.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Zambian nationals with a vision to excel in the following position:
1. FIRE FIGHTER (SMKIA) x 8
The Fire Fighter reports to the Leading Fire Fighter. The Fire Fighter is responsible for promptly responding to actual or potential air crash emergencies and other support services to prevent or extinguish fires and rescue aircraft crow and passengers while working as a momber of a squad.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Provide fire cover to aircraft in flight and those parked at the airport, hangers, fuel depots and terminal building
• Apply where necessary and as directed by superior, comect extinguishing media onto crashed aircraft, overheated or burst tyres
• Under the guidance of his/her superior, participate in rescue operations including aircraft emergencies; shall be required to cut aircraft panels using various manual and power tools.
• Maintaining finess while keeping abreast with firefighting technology through regular fire drills and lectures from superiors while maintain records through note laking
• Responds to fire emergencies and other disaster related calls within and around airport perimeters and performs rescue and firelighting lasks as required.
• Participates in removalneutralisation of explosive ordinance material it and when military aircraft attempts to land at civilian airport.
• Conducts regular inspections on the manoeuvring area in order to control wildlife/bird activities.
• Renders basic first aid to aircraft emergency victims in order to minimise the chances of further injury on fatality.
• Provide fire prevention and protection services around the airport community.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12 Certificate with at least level credits or better which must include English and Mathematics.
• Basic Fire Fighters certificate or equivalent institute of Fire Engineers preliminary certificate.
• Certificate in any engineering discipline will be an added advantage.
• Competence Drivers certificate an added advantage.
