JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose:
Regulate the supply chain by providing clerical support for inbound & outbound logistical operations. Coordinate inventory, warehousing & transportation activities in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
Success Measures
• Review & verify all in/outbound orders and purchases.
• Coordinate the hire of vehicle’s, truck’s & other logistical machinery
• Negotiate transport rates with transporters & ensure compliance as per our ‘Transporter Contract’.
• Ensure correct vehicle is used as per product spec & requirements
• Inspect vehicles prior to hire/loading ensuring they meet road safety and statutory requirements i.e Vehicle fitness, taxes, vehicle and goods insurance.
• Ensure drivers and assistants wear correct health & safety clothing and adhere to safe hygienic and product handling standards.
• Inspect all vehicles prior to loading/offloading, ensuring they meet the company’s specifications & requirements.
• Prepare & coordinate driver routes and delivery loads using cost effective strategies
• Track shipments and transporters ensuring produce is delivered on time – every time
• Coordinate with customers & the sales department on delivery times in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
