Lukanga Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited (LgWSC) is a private Company established under the Companies’ Act CAP 388 of the Laws of Zambia. It was incorporated on 21 March 2006 as a Commercial Water Utility (CU) Limited by shares wholly owned by the Local Authorities in Central Province. The CU was established as part of the GRZ water sub-sector reforms to improve delivery of water supply, sewerage and sanitation services to the urban and peri-urban population in the Province. The Company is seeking the services of a high calibre qualified accountant with management experience from a performance based envionment on a fixed term contract to fill the referred position;
FINANCE MANAGER
In charge of the Finance Department and reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder will take full responsibility for providing financial management and control to take the business forward, involving leadership and coaching to the entire finance team and individual team members. Among other duties, the Finance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring, evaluating financial policies and strategies to support the overall objectives of the business. S/he will oversee the treasury, cash flow, internal controls and ensure that financial and accounting reporting records are timely and sufficient to meet expected business needs and subsquently contribute to financial and operational excellence.
Requirements
a) Full School Certificate with at least a credit in English and Mathematics.
b) Full professional accounting qualification: ACCA, CIMA or equivalent and a degree in Accountancy.
c) Minimum eight (8) years post qualifying work experience three (3) of which must be at top Management.
d) Conversant with Local and International Financial Reporting Standards
e) Must have proven high level of drive and be able to coach and motivate a team
f) Computer literate in common accounting packages e.g Pastel.
g) Proven ability to develop an Accounting Information System based on Strategic and Business Planning towards financing operations and investments.
h) A valid driver’s license
i) Must be an Associate or Fellow member of ZICA.
j) Knowledge of the water sector will be an added advantage
