Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated individuals to fill the vacant senior position of School Bursar (1 Position) at Nkhwazi Primary School in Lusaka.

Position: School Bursar (1 Position)
Institution: Nkhwazi Primary School
Location: 8 Ituna Road, Ridgeway, Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Directing and overseeing all financial operations, accounting functions, and budget administration of the school.
• Preparing annual budgets, cash flow projections, and regular financial management accounts for the School Board and Head of School.
• Managing school fee billing, collection strategies, banking, and treasury functions.
• Ensuring full compliance with Zambian tax legislation, statutory bodies (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, Workers Compensation), and accounting standards.
• Managing school payroll, staff emoluments, procurement approvals, and vendor payments.
• Coordinating and facilitating internal and external annual financial audits.
• Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating the accounting and finance support team.
• Advising the Board of Governors on financial planning, sustainability, investments, and risk management.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate or its recognized equivalent.
• A Degree in Accounting ; alongside professional certification: CA Zambia, full ACCA, CIMA , or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in financial management and accounting (experience in an educational institution is an added advantage).
• Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with valid 2026 membership.
• ZAQA certification of academic qualifications.
• Proven leadership, high integrity, strategic financial acumen, and proficiency in modern accounting packages and spreadsheet applications.
