A reputable manufacturing company based in Lusaka, Zambia, is seeking experienced and competent General Fitters (Mechanical Fitters) to handle maintenance, assembly, and repairs across manufacturing machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine servicing, inspection, overhauls, and repairs on corrugators, printing presses, slitters, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults, align shafts, replace bearings, seals, belts, chains, and hydraulic/pneumatic valves.
- Assemble, install, and align new mechanical machinery and equipment components.
- Participate actively in preventive maintenance schedules to minimize factory downtime.
- Comply with lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and safety policies during maintenance works.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Craft Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Industrial Maintenance, or related trade (TEVETA-accredited).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant mechanical fitting work experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant.
- Past experience in the corrugated carton industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during shift schedules.
