Position: Utility Technicians / Operators
Department: Utility
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain essential plant utility systems including industrial steam boilers, air compressors, chillers, and refrigeration units.
- Oversee water treatment plant (WTP / RO) and effluent treatment plant (ETP) operations to ensure uninterrupted supply of treated water meeting production standards.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and rapid troubleshooting on plant utility machinery, pipelines, and valves.
- Ensure reliable, efficient distribution of steam, compressed air, cooling water, and electricity across production and packaging lines.
- Monitor utility consumption, pressure levels, temperatures, and fuel usage, maintaining detailed operational logs.
- Adhere strictly to environmental, occupational health and safety (OHS) standards, and statutory plant safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Craft Certificate, Technician Certificate, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plant Engineering, or related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in operating and maintaining industrial utilities (boilers, compressors, chillers, water treatment) within a manufacturing, food & beverage, or dairy processing plant.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical diagnosis, and preventive maintenance skills.
- High regard for workplace safety, cleanliness, and operational integrity.
- Ability to work on rotating shift schedules.
