GEOLOGICAL ENGINEER – UNDERGROUND MINING
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct underground geological mapping, investigations and interpretation.
- Provide geological information to support mine planning and production.
- Conduct geological sampling, logging and grade-control activities.
- Prepare geological plans, sections, models and technical reports.
- Monitor geological conditions and identify potential mining hazards.
- Support orebody definition, resource evaluation and grade control.
- Work closely with Mining, Engineering, Geotechnical and Technical Services teams.
- Ensure compliance with Company HSE standards and applicable mining requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Geological, Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience, preferably in underground mining.
- Proven experience in underground geological mapping, sampling and grade control.
- Experience in geological modelling and relevant geological/mining software.
- Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.
- Membership/registration with the relevant professional body will be an advantage.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – BOTH POSITIONS
Successful candidates must:
- Be physically and medically fit to work in a mining environment.
- Provide a valid Medical Fitness Certificate as required by the Company.
- Provide a valid Police Clearance Certificate.
- Be willing to work underground, on-site and in operational areas, where applicable.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Comply with all Company safety rules, procedures, PPE requirements and site regulations.
- Demonstrate good discipline, teamwork, communication, integrity and work ethics.
- Be able to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced mining environment.
- Possess a valid National Registration Card (NRC) and provide certified copies of relevant qualifications.
- Be willing to undergo reference checks and other pre-employment screening.
- Have previous experience in a mining, construction, engineering or industrial environment where applicable.
- Demonstrate commitment to environmental protection and responsible mining practices.
