Expressions of Interest for the Implementation of an Enterprise asset Management System in Zesco Limited

ZESCO/EOI/015/2023:

ZESCO intends to implement a fully integrated Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) to effectively support the needs of Asset Management and keep the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) and Technical Assets Register (TAR) current.

The EAMS will enable ZESCO have a centralised and consistent asset database to serve as a single version of reference of all assets information in the corporation and adhere to industry best practices in Asset Management through implementation of frameworks such as ISO 55000/1/2:2018 on Asset Management, Public Finance Management Act No. 1 of 2018, Public Procurement Act of No. 8 of 2020 and Zambia Public Asset Management Policy of 2018.

Global trends have shown that investment in Enterprise Asset Management solutions and policies have significant impacts on overall performance in the governance of assets in utility organisations such as ZESCO Limited. This has revealed Business Value through Return on Investments. Therefore, due to the complexity and extent of the asset base that includes Generation, Transmission and Distribution assets as well as supporting equipment such as

vehicles, land and buildings, it is important that all assets are managed in a single system to allow for proper Asset Lifecycle Management. Investment in EAM solutions is long term, with value realised over time from the accumulated data of each maintainable asset.

The Enterprise Asset Management System is envisaged to be a major component of the IT Service provision to users that will enable new capabilities for use of Assets to be successfully optimised.

SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work for the EAM implementation shall include Project Management; Asset Data Management; Work Management; Maintenance Management; Disposal; Analytics and Reports; Mobility; and Health and Safety.
