Background
We are looking for a skilled and driven Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Zambia. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a two-year fixed-term contract, work at a dynamic mining site, and make a tangible impact through your engineering expertise, leadership, and commitment to project excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with the agreed scope, programme, budget, and quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership on dams engineering, earthworks, and construction supervision, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Develop and monitor project programmes and schedules, tracking progress, and identify risks and delays.
- Manage project resources, budgets, timelines, and deliverables in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control, to ensure the successful and timely delivery of project objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc Engineering (Civil) with professional registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- A minimum of 15 years’ relevant engineering experience, including proven expertise in dam engineering, earthworks, and construction supervision.
- Strong project management capabilities, with demonstrated experience in planning, conducting, and managing site investigations.
- Proven ability in project planning, scheduling, and delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC).
- Ability to take full ownership of projects, provide effective leadership, and collaborate confidently within multidisciplinary teams while working independently when required.
- Willingness and ability to lead and mentor junior to mid-level technical staff on site as required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
