Overview

HOPE Zambia is seeking a qualified person to fill the Church Partner Financial Guidelines (CPFG) Officer Position. The CPFG Officer will provide critical support to HOPE Zambia’s partners in ensuring the fulfillment of HOPE’s mission in Zambia. This includes financial management support, capacity building, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International.

Spiritual Integration and Christian Witness

  • Support daily and weekly devotions among HOPE Zambia staff in order to maintain a focus on the program’s Christ-centered mission and vision and to promote spiritual growth among staff, group members, and other associated parties.
  • Ensure a personal healthy spiritual balance within family, work, and church life through the adoption of Biblical, personal, spiritual disciplines.
  • Contribute to discourse on Spiritual Integration strategies, plans and activities in consultation with other HOPE Head Office staff as well as Partner staff

Relationship Building and Management

  • Assist the AFM in developing and maintaining excellent, productive and fruitful relationships with partner finance personnel.
  • Provide Partner high level as well as hands-on financial management support
  • In all the above, ensure that relationships are marked by HOPE’s Christ-centered values, as defined in HOPE’s PASSION acronym.

Program Performance

  • Work with church partners to continually improve financial performance within the SG ministry.

Financial Management, Reporting & Analysis

  • Ensure full adherence by partners to all HOPE financial policies and procedures
  • Interface with the AFM on financial reporting and related policy, processes, and documentation
  • Ensure partners financial reports accurately and timely
  • Ensure timely and accurate partner financial reporting, thorough review of submitted reports, filling out grant checklists and following up on issues of reporting.
  • Provide analysis of partner reports and actionable recommendations to the AFM.
  • Monitor and strengthen financial controls at the partner level and facilitate partner financial audits.
  • Review partner budget documents for objectivity and remaining within budget, as well as ensuring that budgets are approved for timely transfer of funds to the partners.
  • Meet regularly with the AFM to review partner financial management performance and come up with action plans for strengthening partner financial management capacity.
  • Support AFM with CP finance training and capacity building for existing partners and on-boarding for existing partners

Qualifications

  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
  • Full understanding of the Savings Group Ministry (SGM) and principles
  • Passion and ability to self–educate regarding SGM methodologies and systems
  • Minimum of two years of work experience, with some experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency with Excel as a tool for data input, reporting, review, and analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of cross-cultural communication, workplace relationships, or church relations.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent training and capacity building skills
  • Excellent computer-based communication skills
  • Highly flexible and creative
  • Assertive, self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team
  • Qualifying university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or similar field of study
