Position: Financial Accountant | Keep Moving with Camel Oil

Camel Oil , a member of the Amsons Group, is looking for a qualified, analytical, and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at our operations in Lusaka West, Zambia.

Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: Full professional qualification ( ACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia / ZICA , or equivalent) is required.
• Membership: Active, paid-up membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) .
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience (petroleum, manufacturing, mining, or relevant commercial industry preferred). Experience working in a multicultural corporate setting is an added advantage.
• Software Skills: High proficiency in accounting ERP software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Pastel, or QuickBooks ) and advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, uncompromising ethical standards, and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting transactions, financial ledgers, and cash flow operations across retail and wholesale petroleum distribution.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage statutory tax filings and ensure 100% compliance with Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) regulations (VAT, PAYE, WHT, Income Tax).
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and customer credit control.
• Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register updates, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare departmental budgets, track variance analysis, and support internal and external audit processes.
