Assistant Store Manager (Gross Salary – Negotiable)

We are urgently looking for a qualified and experienced person to fill the vacancy of:

Main Purpose Of The Job

The successful candidate will be managing and supervising the daily production of the bakery products. Ensures that all baked goods are produced while achieving maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort or expense. Confirms all baked goods are produced with highest standards of food safety and quality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversees and monitors the production process to create efficient daily production schedule
  • Works closely with the Store Manager and manufacturing team to control, maintain and oversee inventory on finished products and loose cookies to determine production forecast.
  • Makes sure that all products, including special orders are produced on time
  • Ensures that materials are on hand and coordinates with different sections to maintain that standard
  • Follows up, checks and maintains quality guidelines set forth by the company
  • Ensures product matrix is followed and packing specifications are met
  • Ensures all levels of packing stages are operated efficiently and cost effective
  • Directs worker training in areas of safety, job functions and practices of manufacturing
  • Identifies, corrects and prevents health and safety issues, along with ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed by staff
  • Supervises and motivates their production team
  • Directs, delegates and assigns tasks to supervisors
  • Constantly observes and analyzes the creation of quality records to certify compliance with company policies and product specifications
  • Ensure company policies and regulations are followed
  • Conducts performance evaluation of their employees
  • Ensures stacks are in place and order at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • 1 – 3 years working experience in a baking and pastry environment, Knowledge of flour products and baking, Strong relationship management skills and commercial bakery/ confectionery technical skills.
  • Grade 12 school certificate,
  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management,
  • Excellent computer skills on in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and internet
  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • A thorough knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and warehouse management
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills required

Physical Demands:

  • May work late at night or early mornings to facilitate production of goods
  • May need to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in all types of environments (warehouse, manufacturing, administrative office, etc.)
  • Able to sit or stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift
  • Able to lift and/or move weights.
