The Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board (HELSB) is a statutory body established by the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Act No. 31 of 2016 to provide for the administration, granting, investment, payment and recovery of student loans; provide for the administration and granting of scholarships; facilitate the mobilisation of financial resources for loans and scholarships, and provide for matters connected with or incidental to the foregoing.
Loan Recoveries Officer – 2 Positions (Lusaka)
a. Principal Accountabilities
? Undertaking regularly the maintenance and updating of the Loan Recovery Database in order to facilitate storage, retrieval and processing of information;
? Undertaking periodically the development and review of Loans Recovery System in order to facilitate loan repayments;
? Undertaking timely the preparation of Loan Recovery Reports in order to provide information for decision making;
? Undertaking effectively collaborations and liaisons with key stakeholders in order to increase loan recovery rates and enhance sustainability of the Fund;
? Undertaking timely monitoring and evaluation of sectional programs in order to assess their impact and facilitate the development of appropriate interventions;
? Undertaking effectively, the development of work plans and performance appraisal in order to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of performance; and
? Undertaking effectively, the development of work plans in order to facilitate monitoring and evaluation of performance.
b. Qualifications and Experience
? Full Grade 12 Certificate; and
? Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Public Administration or its equivalent.
c. Skills and Attributes
? Able to write technical and analytical reports; and
? Able to communicate fluently in English.
? Other Skills/Attributes: Tact and diplomacy, Analytical, Interpersonal and computer skills.
