Job description:

Overall Job Purpose

Responsible for provision of culinary expertise to create appetizing dishes for customers while ensuring food quality and maintaining kitchen equipment

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that quality and presentable food is prepared to satisfy all customers

  • Responsible for creating menus

  • Help with setting up the food-servicing area

  • Event co-coordinating and food servicing whenever necessary

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area

  • Any other tasks as may be delegated upon by the supervisor

Experience & Qualifications required to perform in this job

  • Thorough knowledge of food preparation and servicing

  • Experience in a variety of different  kitchens with exposure to banqueting and industrial catering

  • Proven creativity in menu planning and recipe creation

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate

  • Diploma in Food Production or relevant field
