Job Description Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an Economic Regulatory Affairs Manager to join the Group Regulatory Affairs team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Head of Regulatory Affairs, with no direct reports to the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the CCBA Group Interests are protected from regulatory risk and that Group Tax, CCBA International Markets and Group Strategy are provided world class economic regulation support, maximizing expertise from within CCBA, to achieve our strategy at CCBA Group and at country level. Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, currently in 13 countries and accounting for 40 percent of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. CCBA has an extensive footprint in Africa, employing over 17 000 employees and servicing over 600 000 retail outlets. CCBA is a market leader in the NARTD (non-alcoholic ready to drink market) in Africa. The South African subsidiary, Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa accounts for 70 percent of CCBA’s volumes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities 1. Ensuring regulatory inputs which have material value are accounted for correctly in Country business plans, budgets, and strategies 2. Providing economic regulatory and cost modelling support to CCBA International Markets on key issues identified, such as tax and any regulatory related fees 3. Engagement with national, regional regulators to support Group and Country commercial strategy 4. Ensuring CCBA Group interests are represented by CCBA International Markets on all material issues 5. Providing economic regulatory input to ensure that CCBA Management are briefed on the value and risk of material legal and regulatory issues 6. Providing other reports and information required by CCBA Management 7. Being the key economic regulatory contact person for Group and Country Finance teams 8. Working with the team to developing Group-wide policies and strategies, which can be used by Group and Country in representation with key stakeholders and regulators 9. Providing economic regulation contribution to Regulatory Development Programme to increase understanding and build capability across the community, including: coaching, training, presentations, workshops 10. Providing economic regulation support to strategy and new business activities, including due diligences and assessments of opportunities 11. Providing economic regulatory and cost modelling support on matters being worked on by regional economic (i.e. SADC, COMESA, EAC) to secure regulatory decisions and minimize risk
Skills, Experience & Education Qualifications • Economics Degree • Finance Degree Experience • At least 5 years’ experience in Finance/Regulatory/Public Affairs • At least 5 years’ experience in working in FMCG or in a regulated industry
