Zanaco Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals with relevant experience for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the  Company Secretary & Legal Division  under the  Legal Department  at Zanaco Plc Head Office:



To manage the Contract Management and Business Unit Support function in the Bank within regulatory requirements and legal standards consistent with supporting the Bank’s strategic direction and growth aspirations

Under the supervision of the  Head Litigation & Legal Advisory , the following are among the  Job Key Responsibilities : –

  • Manage all outsourced Contract and Legal Document drafting and review and maintain related records
  • Draft and review contracts
  • Draft and review internal legal documents
  • Manage the execution of all Contracts and related documents by the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary
  • Maintain the register of contracts
  • Manage, in collaboration with the IT Division and Data Center, the scanning and maintenance of electronic records of all Contracts and related Legal Documents.
  • Provide legal and transactional support to the business units (Commercial Division/Digital Banking Division/Finance Division/Operations Division).
  • Attend Special Assets Management Committee meetings when delegated by the Head-Litigation and Legal Advisory
  • Attend the Management Tender Committee Meeting with the Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by management.


  • External:  Local Regulators on statutory matters, Lawyers and Legal bodies/institutions
  • Internal:  All Divisions


  • Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
  • Degree in Law
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in the regulatory field and/or equivalent legal experience
  • Legal Practitioners Practicing Certificate
  • Strong understanding of corporate law practices
  • Strong understanding of the banking regulatory environment
  • Understanding of applicable legislation and standards
  • Strong contract drafting and review skills
  • Good judgment enabling the provision of sound advice in areas of law, regulation and practice and the proactive management of compliance and regulatory risk
  • Proven ability to establish relationships and exert influence at senior management level, regulators and external stakeholders
