Job Description for Management Accountant

Management Accountant Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
• Analyze monthly gross margins and recommend price adjustments periodically
• Comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for financial statements.
• Analyze any changes in goods or services provided to determine what effect it has on the cost.
• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and post any production variances at the end of the month.
• Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products.
• Monthly management accounts and production variance reports
• Accurately maintain BOM of all products and manufacture finished goods in the system
• Annual budget preparation and variance analysis
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting or supplier raw material invoices and month-end journals
• Assist in external audits
• Conduct and supervise physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.

Management Accountant Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent (essential).
• Part or full ACCA or CIMA or ZICA
• Member of ZICA (essential).
• 5-7 years of management accounting work experience (preferably in manufacturing sector/FMCG).
• Sound understanding of accounting principles.
