Arise Africa Zambia is a Christian, non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to the empowerment of communities by improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children

We are looking for a Head Teacher to join our vibrant organization as Head Teacher. Reporting to the Director, the job holder will be expected to lead in the implementation of curriculum, education policies and programs.

S/he will provide strategic leadership and hold overall accountability for direction, standards achieved and quality of education.

The person will be accountable for overseeing the growth and strategic development of the education programs in the specific school as well as ensure linkages with other schools in the program.

S/he will lead in the development and implementation of the schools’ strategy, work plans, budgets and supervise the operations of the school.

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Assessing, recording and reporting to the top management the progress and attainment of each student.
  • Management of curriculum
  • Management of people-both teaching staff and non-teaching staff (Parents)
  • Teaching with strong class room management skills
  • Stewardship of the school
  • Liaising with local education offices and other stakeholders in current trends.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining quality assurance and standard systems in the school.
  • Maintaining a high -performance culture academically and in co-curricular activities.
  • Develop and mentor the staff and recognize the professional development needs to achieve high performance culture in school.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, a Masters will be an advantage
  • Teachers certification
  • At least 5 {five} years in the same position
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Being a Christian school, the candidate must be a Christian
  • Proven record in educational Leadership including school administration, classroom instruction, lesson plans, student assessment and staff development.
  • Be a self-motivated, energetic person who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and is able to bring new ideas to the team.
