Financial Accountant -x1 Vacancy (Long Term Contract)

Job Intent: Undertake Financial reporting, coordinate Internal and Annual Audits. Responsible for company Tax matters, including annual updates of Transfer pricing documents. Timely financial reporting of company performance in line with business strategy and plans.

Reports to: Finance Manager

Branch: Lusaka

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cash, Bank & Treasury Management
  • Daily cash and bank position dash board
  • Supervise Bank reconciliation tasks (This should be updated continuously and not left to be done on closing date)
  • Inventory account and general ledger managed accurately and timeously, monthly
  • Monitor WIP list and confirm the status of each project by obtaining Weekly reports from sites
  • VAT, WHT management and all statutory Obligations
  • Always perform a reconciliation to ascertain the reasonableness of amount payable or claimable
  • Effective and timely reporting to group (HCM & HCAF)
  • Finance and Accounting- Preparation and administration of Income Tax on a monthly basis, including Deferred Tax
  • General ledger account reconciliations, including vendor payments
  • Financial and profitability analysis on a monthly basis to aid decision making
  • Preparation of Annual Financial Statements for review by the FM/CFO
  • People Management- Manage team performance, develop and train employees and participate in Industrial relations
  • General Administration– Monthly statutory payments are done timeously, Accounting policies, procedures and authorization implemented and monitored and Monthly statutory payments are done timeously

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Full ACCA/CIMA/ZICA Qualification
  • Member of ZICA
  • Minimum of 4-6 Years’ experience in a senior accounting position
  • Experience in a Financial Supervisory position in the mining or related sector will be an added advantage


  • Excellent Microsoft word and Excel
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles, Budgeting, corporate reporting and legislation
  • Knowledge of Corporate Governance and Extensive knowledge of financial & accounting practices
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation & GAAP including market dynamics in relation to industry trends best practice and competitive practices
